THE ROLE


To provide a comprehensive auto electrician service in accordance with the relevant departmental procedures. The successful candidate will ensure that the work is completed to an outstanding quality, alongside ensuring that appropriate records and necessary paperwork is completed accurately.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Assessing the electrical system of a vehicle.
  • Diagnose, inspect, and assess vehicles and associated mechanical / electrical equipment.
  • Using readings to diagnose faults and how best to repair them.
  • Using electrical diagrams to find faults.
  • Installing vehicle wiring systems.
  • Servicing electrical automotive parts.
  • Maintaining a clean working environment.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Proven experience as an auto electrician.
  • Good hand dexterity and an eye for detail. 
  • Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.).
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
  • Willingness to always follow safety guidelines.
  • Good knowledge of English.
  • Good understanding of basic maths.
  • Excellent physical condition and endurance.
  • A highly motivated and confident individual with a strong desire to succeed.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Advanced knowledge of vehicular electrical systems.
  • Previous work on armoured vehicles
  • Confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive material.
  • Secure facility; must adhere to security protocols, possibly restricted access and visiting controls.
  • Working knowledge of regulations and approved codes of practice.
  • A full British driving licence.
  • Residence and the right to work in the UK.
  • A valid passport.
  • Able to pass a DBS check.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Create high-quality technical drawings and plans to ISO 128 Standard.
  • Use a variety of CAD software programmes to create designs in 2D and 3D.
  • Produce 2D parts drawings and 3D parts models for export to production.
  • Liaise with engineers to understand their design requirements.
  • Present working drawings for use in all stages of the project, tender, manufacture, and installation.
  • Update and maintain product design files.
  • Ensure that all work carried out is in compliance with company design, safety, quality, environmental compliance, and procedural standards.
  • Carry out any reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by your direct Line Manager or the Management Team.
  • Maintaining a clean working environment.


REQUIREMENTS


  • Degree, HNC/HND or similar qualification with an Engineering/Industrial design background.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks with a good understanding of parametric capabilities.
  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation Connect edition CAD system or equivalent.
